Harvest Scenes Along Cuckolds Green Road

The harvest has begun. Summer is coming to an end.

These photos were taken on the driest day I have ever experienced in England. For a second, I thought I was at home. Although it was only in the high 70s, the moist air I have learned to get used to was unusually dusty, dry and stale. I was in a state of confusion when I awoke to such change in climate until I began to hear the "farm machines" outside. Later on enormous "cinnamon rolls" covered the fields where crops once stood tall. Having arrived here in May, it's strange to see the crops suddenly disappear. I am now awaiting the leaves and keeping my fingers crossed. So far there are no signs ... only rain. Lots and lots of rain.
